Beach House

Haven't done any serious SL house-building (at least not that I liked the result of) in a long time! I am quite happy with this mostly-white-wood beach house (shown as decorated with whatever was near the top of my Furniture folder and seemed to fit in).

This was a one-off, but maybe I will do a bit more housebuilding, if I stay in the mood. :)

(Various things from various places; feel free to write or comment if you recognize something and would like it explicitly acknowledged. Little sofa from Cheeky Pea I think, outside table and chairs from The Muffin Shack I think, screen door texture from the Marketplace, other screen textures found as images on the Web somewhere and converted; also the windows. Very nice white wood textures also from the Marketplace. I think.)

It's like 92 prims, but with careful setting of various ones to have a Physics Type of None, the Land Effect is a mere 47 or so (unfurnished). Which was nice!

AT&T Point Reyes Radio (KMI) Warning

AT&T Point Reyes, CA High Seas Radio Receiver Site (KMI), 8 March 2003.

This sign was at the receiver shack gate. It clearly predates the 1984 Bell System divestiture, judging from it's weathered condition and the old Bell logo. The AT&T high seas HF radiotelephone service was discontinued in 1999; the KMI facilities were abandoned shortly thereafter. The site was razed in 2004.

WARNING

Willful or malicious destruction of or injury to communications facilities used or intended for use for military or civil defense functions is a violation of the laws of the United States. Violations are punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years or a fine of up to ,000 or both.
