.....item 2).... The B-24D on display flew combat missions from North Africa in 1943-1944 with the 512th Bomb Squadron. It was flown to the museum in May 1959. It is the same type airplane as the "Lady Be Good," the world-famous B-24D that disappeared on a mission from North Africa in April 1943 and was found in the Libyan Desert in May 1959.

A labor of love by Boeing employees and suppliers has brought new life -- and a 21st-century paint job -- to a World War II-era B-25J Mitchell bomber.

Forty-seven Boeing employees in St. Louis, including managers, engineers, artists and members of the International Association of Machinists, worked 600 hours over a two-week period in late January and early February to make the twin-engine aircraft look new. Working after hours, they washed down the aircraft and applied about 20 gallons of paint to the wings, the fuselage, the engines, the nose art and the markings.

Working to restore the B-25 reminded Mike Kerr of his late uncle, a pilot during World War II. "My uncle flew a B-25 that looked a lot like this one," Kerr said.

The restored B-25, named "Show Me," is owned by the Missouri Chapter of the Confederate Air Force, an organization dedicated to the preservation of combat aircraft flown from 1939 to 1945. The organization flies and displays the "Show Me" at air shows around the country

Today I worked a lot. I was sad too. I walked into work 10 minutes late, crying. My manager who is sometimes frightening, funny, immature, or a bitch... was actually really nice today. She always goes out and smokes cigerettes so she made me come with her and another girl I've learned to like a lot and I told them all about what was going on. I clocked in 40 minutes late, but I felt a lot better about it after talking with them.

I actually had no idea what I was going to do for today's. First it was just a quick 15 shot shoot with the tears. I took about four with my pillow, then I started editing and I began to see "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" *google image wave* and added that into the photo and here we go... it turns out it works perfectly with this song and my mood of today. Cause all I want is to do this with a certain somebody. 7 days.

Two Of Us

Today the Rogues are paying tribute to ~cynthiak~. This is a copycat of her Day 171 'Like father, like daughter' shot, itself a copycat of one of her father's photos.

The arrangement of doors and rooms at the end of the hall meant that I had to reverse the position of the clones. And, of course, our house lacks the natural wood look of either of the original pictures. I applied a vintage effect in Picnik to offset this.
