THEME: words, words, words

I'm catching up with u all as much as I can. So I'm streaming now!

I had a busy week because I volunteered myself to be a part of the Women’s Conference. I took this collage at the art gallery that we had at women's conference. Anyways, It was a pretty interesting event and at the same time kind of awkward for me because there are times where I’ll be the only guy at the conference. Yep so awkward! Anyways the purpose of the event was pretty much to bring awareness of the Military build up that’s going to take place on Guam. A lot of informative stuff but I’m not completely too sure if I agree with them. I mean there are some topics that I can totally agree with them.

Overall I had a good week. You know, I've always wanted to do collage..maybe I should think about it more =)

BTW this week is suicide prevention here on Guam. I original had a thought on doing photo about it since I’m a suicide survivor (I had a complicated and tough life). I regret not attending any sort of conferences or activities because of the women’s conference. My heart goes out to family and friends who had lose someone.

Instructions:
Copy a colorfield image to a new directory. Select image for editing. Select Effects, Focal B&W and set position, size and sharpness for desired effect for focal position 1. Save a copy and then undo edits. Again , edit for a focal B&W but at a new position. Repeat until have enough spots for a composite. Select each of the copies to be combined and from the menu bar select Create > Picture Collage > Type Mult-exposure > Click Create. Find the composite where saved and then, if needed, select saturation effect to punch the color back up.

An 8.5 x 6.5 inch (excluding hanger) hanging artwork made on heavy chipboard. Reproduction vintage photo's, real starfish, sea biscuits, and shells used to create this piece. Elements/photo's are "3D" and stand away from the background but it's difficult to tell that by the picture.

2006 was the year I bit the bullet and picked up a camera again, and it's been a fantastic time for me. These are my 20 most 'interesting' pictures for the year, based on... I don't know, some crazy computer algorithm thing.

This has been a fantastic year for me- I've learnt a ton already and met some fantastic photographers. Thanks to everyone I've met on flickr in the last year - your collective talent, enthusiasm and friendliness continues to inspire. Hope you all have a fantastic 2007.

Since we were both married by Karen Milligan, I made a collage of her from both our weddings. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures from Chris W and Geri's wedding, or this could be better. Also, too bad that our pictures are very low-res compared to Greg & Nicole's.

BACKSTORY: Although I am pretty thorough with pictures, I didn't want to have all 500+ pictures from Greg & Nicole's wedding. It would have been 1 out of every 20 pics that I have or so, and it would have been no fewer than 27 pages of photos on flickr, and a lot of them would be of people I'd never met. That's a bit too much. I went through and tried to take the best of everything relevant to me, combining some pictures as diptychs, and doing whatever possible to get the total image count down whilestill capturing an acceptable amount. I was amazed to finally get it down to 77 images, almost all of which were cropped and photoshop enhanced. It took no less than 3 days!
