Details and History
The Library of Congress website offers a multitude of historical images, many with no known restrictions on use. This image is cropped from the early 20th century American Colony stereograph titled Northern views. Ruins of buttress at Taiybeh.
Taiybeh (Taybeh, الطيبة) was renamed by Saladin because the biblically important village's original name, Ophrah, was homonymous with unpleasant words in Arabic. It is the last predominantly Christian community in the West Bank.

Ingersoll image, titled The old bucks in council, Sioux tribe, dates to 1900. This type of feathered headdress was uncommonly worn, being most frequently reserved for use as a warbonnet.
