Although I don't play the game, I love the beauty of chess pieces. For this shot, I set up two small mirrors perpendicular to each other and placed the chess board as the "third wall" to give some context and pattern in the reflected images. I sharpened the image, added levels, and applied the "accented edges" filter for additional effect. I like the painterly effect it gives the shot. Took the image to lightroom, cleaned up the skin, softened up the skins some more then finished the edit in lightroom.

Hubble Space Telescope image of Saturn, her rings, some very bright moons, and a malevolently-glowing, orange Titan. Note that Saturn isn't a perfect sphere but is flatten at the poles. That's because Saturn spins so fast about its axis that it warps herself.

Today I used a little different post-processing on my photo. As I haven't used Topaz adjust in a long time and was looking how to add more detail to this photo, I tried it out. And the spicify preset with some tweeking created quite intersting results. For those interested, this was taken in the St. Sebaldus Church in Nuremberg.

LRO image of the moon. This image was assembled from LRO images, each taken at local noon so this image is of the entire nearside of the moon at noon, which only happens in tricky NASA images or really bad science fiction movies.

The last step and result of this project:
I copied the shadow of the tree from original image and fitted it to match the perspective. Then I corrected the size and made it monochrom to match the color-style of the stony underground. Voilá - here it is! The last tree in a world of stone.
